Parker, a former Broncos star, sparked the controversy by suggesting the Titans might have blindsided Hannay with a clause in his contract. This clause, as reported, would see Hannay demoted to an assistant coach role in 2027 if the club managed to secure Craig Bellamy as their head coach.

"I want to say on the record we would never operate that way."
Parker acknowledged the clarity, stating it provided "great clarity for the listeners and for the fans."
